OBRIGADO
Spraytime Marine Services has just finished the boat repairs and boat spray painting work on the 98’ Cruiser “OBRIGADO”.
The boat repairs included, among other things, re-fairing the spa deck to level the surface area and get it ready for a new teak deck, recoating all of the timber capping rails, and various blister repairs.
We used the International Awlcraft paint on this vessel, as well as the Awlfair trowlable Fairing compound on the spa deck level and around the vessel.
The underwater areas were also treated to Jotun Antifoul coatings, supplied by Scomar Distributions.
With a tight time schedule, this was a true test of skill and ability for all involved. Not only did Spraytime come in on schedule and on budget, but we also managed to fit additional work procedures into the scope as well.
OBRIGADO will now head up North to Hamilton Island for the annual Audi Hamilton Island Race Week on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

INTRODUCING NEW INTEGRATED SYSTEM
We have recently introduced the use of fully integrated software that enables our customers to keep track of our progress each step of the way.
At the commencement of the job, our customers are provided with personalised log-in details so that all information can remain confidential. They are then able to view a complete step-by-step break down of the work procedures involved in their particular job. This is updated daily with a percentage completed column for each step. This enables our customers to have greater oversight should they wish to.
We also upload any relevant 'before and after' photos or any information that may pertain to the vessel here.
The idea is that the customer can access this information as often as they wish, or not at all. We are able to provide up to date information regarding the progress of the job.
This has been a major win for clients who reside far away as they are able to see pictures and relevant notes of the progress and have peace of mind.
We believe that the introduction of this option is yet another component that sets us apart from the pack. Feel free to contact us with any questions regarding this at:

LICORICE
Spraytime Marine Services has just completed warranty works on a 52’ Sunseeker Predator – aptly named “LICORICE”. The Topsides of the vessel were redone in a striking Jet Black, using the Awlcraft paint system. Marine warranty repairs is just one more service that Spraytime offers. We were able to get the vessel turned over within a tight timeframe. The boat painters at Spraytime Marine worked together to sand back the hull and repaint the Topsides of the vessel in the Jet Black colour, leaving a spotless finish.

PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT
Treating your vessel to a full cut, buff and wax annually can greatly increase the longevity of the paintwork.
Spraytime Marine Services has access to a range of detailing systems that we can customise to suit your particular needs.
Why not use the colder months to get this taken care of?
We find that many vessels lie dormant for at least part of the cooler months of the year and when it comes to the warmer months; part of this time is taken up attending to upkeep and maintenance issues, rather than enjoying the fun in the sun.
While we’re at it – we can even attend to those small touch-ups to the paintwork that inevitably appear through normal wear and tear. By doing this, you will ensure that your vessel looks its best year in and year out. Not only will it look great, but you will also protect your investment from any further deterioration.
Spraytime Marine Services has developed a reputation in the industry of delivering outstanding results. Leave your vessel in the capable hands of the marine spraypainting professionals.
We also offer a range of other services – including full marine refinishing.

"SUN GODDESS" – Completed
The pristine waters enveloping Hayman Island lures travellers from around the globe. Appreciated for its inviting temperatures and alluring depths, the vast ocean promises rapture and inspiration to its mass of admirers. However, relentlessly lapping against the sturdy hull, the brackish water threatened to rob visitors of one of the island’s greatest icons, the Sun Goddess.
Renown for the safety and reliability it offers its passengers, the Sun Goddess’ management, Lloyd Donaldson and Terry Chittleborough, recognised that this vessel had served a long battle against the unyielding ocean. To ensure the Sun Goddess continued to resemble its namesake, Spraytime Marine Services was entrusted with the restoration and beautification process – a Cinderella transformation that would astonish all admirers.
After detailed consultation, the rejuvenation process was determined. The Sun Goddess would be treated to a full refurbishment, a bow to stern restoration that would revitalise her spirit enabling her to once again mesmerise her audience.
Beaming down like a spotlight, the sun’s harsh rays weathered the Sun Goddess’ once flawless complexion. Her weather-worn appearance highlighted her need for a make-over. Resting safely in the comfort and security of the Gold Coast City Marina, the cruiser was pampered with a complete sand back of the existing topcoatings, allowing the Sun Goddess to breathe a sigh of relief. However, the team at Spraytime Marine encountered areas that required greater love and attention with sanding to bare aluminium and exposure of the substrate necessary to allow no room for compromise in Sun Goddess’ transformation.
The evolution from tiresome, corroded passenger ferry to flagship of the fleet was further encouraged through the application of the epoxy trowlable fairing compound. Promising strong structure and an unfailing base for paint application, the Sun Goddess was treated to machine and hand sanding (including boarding). Following this dedicated process, several coats of high build primer were gently and seamlessly applied, with sanding and boarding occurring between each application to ensure a flawless result. Ready for her close up, the Sun Goddess received the highest quality finish primer and the polyurethane top coating, resulting in a striking finish that would have all demanding encore.
Spraytime Marine Services was committed to bringing the passenger ferry back to her former glory, applying the luxuriating and sophisticated Awlcraft 2000 paint system to ensure she was groomed for her homecoming. The unveiling of the Sun Goddess left observers speechless as what now stood before them was an impressive commercial vessel with an alluring white boat finish.
The transformation process of the Sun Goddess was not limited to simply external treatment. To ensure her poised return to the ocean’s stage, she was supplied and equipped with new engines by Stella Marine, so that she looked and sounded the part. All fabrication and engineering required was also handled by Stella Marine. This mechanical overhaul promised a vessel that not only impressed observers but passengers and operators – a complete transformation.
Spraytime Marine Services expresses thanks to Lloyd Donaldson and Terry Chittleborough from Hayman Island for entrusting their vessel and its transformation to the company. Dean Warren and his team at Spraytime Marine look forward to a continuing relationship and always assure quality results. Gratitude is also expressed to Gary Cooper and Greg Larkin from Stella Marine for their assistance in securing the contract. The potential of the Sun Goddess was obvious to Spraytime Marine Services and the company’s dedication and professionalism is unmistakable in the beacon of quality that glides upon the rolling tides. No longer does the ocean batter and wear upon her hull but it embraces her beauty, thankful for her presence.

1973 CORVETTE STINGRAY PROJECT
After the massive success that Spraytime Marine Services enjoyed with the 1956 Ford F-100 project, we have been contracted in a new and exciting vehicle project.
The mission: Full restoration on a 1973 Corvette Stingray.
The 1973 Stingray is part of the Third Generation Corvettes, with only about 30,000 of these models that went into production. This model was
confirmed when we saw the chrome front bumper replaced with a new body coloured urethane bumper cover due to new regulations in the United States.
This particular vehicle was purchased in November 2010 from Chevy Thunder on the Gold Coast. The restoration works started in March 2011. Steve Brow from Fonzies Hot Rod Shop on the Gold Coast has been commissioned to remove the old 350 Chevy motor and parts in the engine bay and from the undercarriage.
Steve is fitting a new Chevy 350 330 Horsepower motor with all the good gear attached in the car. Steve is also controlling the fitting of the new suspension, components and a new PWR custom radiator to the vehicle.
Whilst the engine and all components are removed, Spraytime Marine Services are to carry out some repairs and prepare and repaint the engine bay and undercarriage in the original semi gloss 2K black.
Spraytime Marine Services have been commissioned to prepare and repaint the car due to our reputation for delivering great results. When dealing with a client’s ‘pride and joy’ it is of utmost importance to deliver exactly according to their expectations. Through this process of consulting with the customer, the owner decided to keep the original shade of yellow. However this time around, we will be applying a House of Colours pearl base coat clear coat to the car to give it that extra ‘Wow factor’.
Stay tuned for more updates on this project in the near future, and don’t forget to check out the image gallery for the progress.

"SUN GODDESS" – nearing completion
Around six months of work will come to a head in late March. Spraytime Marine Services was fortunate enough to secure the contract to carry out the refinishing procedures on one of the three Hayman Island charter boats – “SUN GODDESS.” Countless man hours have been spent on this project and the end result is well worth it.
“Sun Goddess” is a 34m commercial aluminium cruiser. The work procedures undertaken by Spraytime Marine Services include: removal of fixtures/fittings, sanding and grinding the entire surface area of the vessel, fairing, priming, and topcoating the surface areas. We also carried out repairs as required and did a final buff, wax and detail ready for re-launch.

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL
The "TRADITION" is my life, my home and my workplace for most of the year. And when it came time for a full paint job, I explored all my options (type and brand of paint and primers) very carefully, including consulting with the best in the business in Florida.
I bid the job out to many companies that were keen to do the job, but after many discussions with Dean and George at Spraytime (who have done all my paint work and touch ups to date) we decided on a price and more importantly the products to give me the longevity of paint colour, gloss, and thickness needed for the harsh North Queensland sun where I spend most of my time.
Along with the great facilities at GCCM, Spraytime were on the job early every day and any additions or unexpected issues were looked, discussed, and a game plan enacted to take care of them as required.
We had a budget, both dollar and time wise, and we came in on time to the day, and on budget as well.
I cannot be happier with the results, and "TRADITION" has again shone bright during the Cairns black marlin season.
Thanks to Dean and his team at Spraytime, "TRADITION" is looking good for the next decade!!!!

HOT ROD SHOW
Did you know that Spraytime Marine Services also offers a custom painting service? We recently completed works on a full make-over of a 1956 Ford F-100 Pickup. Images can be found in our custom paintwork gallery. We used the House of Kolors ‘Gold Pearl Metallic’ paint system. All bodywork and preparation was handled by Spraytime Marine Services. The process included a two-coat base colour, five coats of pearl colour and then five coats of clear.
The F-100 was entered into the Gold Coast Hot Rod Show in November 2010, and Spraytime Marine Service won the award for best custom paint job. This was a huge honour for us and a credit to all the guys involved in the process.
A special thanks to the owners, Wayne and Diane McLaughlin for their faith and trust in our ability to deliver a great end result.
